Sometimes cited as one of the best ramen spots in Tokyo, you might be surprised by its appearance upon visiting. Located in the basement of Tokyo Station along "Ramen Street", Rokurinsha looks just like any regular budget noodle house, right down to the ticket machine.
The immediately noticeable difference between Rokurinsha and the nearby competition, however, is the lineup. It is constantly mobbed by salarymen and OLs from the nearby offices, where a lineup of an hour or more is business as usual. As a result, it is strongly recommended to not attempt a visit during the lunch hour rush.
The main draw of Rokurinsha is its tsukemen, which is made with unusually thick noodles and a heavy dipping broth. You can also ask staff for "soup wari" to add hot water to the broth after you're finished with the noodles to enjoy it on its own.
If you find yourself in the area and find the wait to be too much, it is better to try the nearby Soramachi location near the Sky Tree.
